Day 21 Blog Flash Challenge

#BlogFlash2012: Day Twenty One – Night

Tonight I’m going to change it up a little bit. Instead of my normal babble about today’s topic I’m going to leave the opening to a short story I’m working on.

A cold rain fell from the eerie starless sky.  A nearly full moon struggled to be seen from behind the oppressively low-hanging clouds that wrapped around the old building, giving it a dark and sinister stance.  Marie tightened her grip on the handle of her umbrella being sure to follow the others closely as they made their way along the winding narrow path like a midnight funeral procession.  The dreary weather set the evening’s mood.  She cautiously made her way up the steep, wet concrete steps to the entrance of where she was about to spend the night.
Good night….keep writing!!

About Joy Keeney

I love the feeling I get when I put my pencil to the paper to write. I love the sound of the lead as it glides from the tip of the pencil onto the paper below. I'm scared to death of failure....also have a fear of actually succeeding. What a combo....I'm working on them both. I will only fail if I STOP writing! It's okay for me to write something that others will like. I've started to enjoy waiting for the reaction of the person reading my work. If they get goose bumps or reach for a tissue I know I'm on the right track!

  1. I found this quite eerie, but very interesting. Loved the imagery! I wouldn’t mind reading the rest of it! 🙂
