Day 26 Blog Flash Seeing

#BlogFlash2012: Day Twenty Six- Seeing

Today I’m dedicating my post to a very dear friend of mine. She’s been battling Agoraphobia for almost 9 years now.  I myself have gotten her out and about in the past but only went a few blocks from her house before having to return…still great steps for her. Recently she’s found a doctor that is helping her see there is hope.

On August 4,2012 her husband took her to her 1st garage sale in 9 years, she was a couple of miles away from home…they hit several that day.  It was great to see her out and about.

On August 18,2012 they took her 1 1/2 year old grand daughter to the park to feed the ducks. She even braved going into a small store along the way…decided that she’s not ready for that yet…but still tried.

She is sharing her story with the public via a local TV station and a newspaper that approached her. It is in hopes she can help others see that they aren’t alone.  I am so very proud of my friend and can’t wait to see her pull into my driveway one day for a visit. She has shown me that with determination you can see your dreams come true.

Keep writing!

About Joy Keeney

I love the feeling I get when I put my pencil to the paper to write. I love the sound of the lead as it glides from the tip of the pencil onto the paper below. I'm scared to death of failure....also have a fear of actually succeeding. What a combo....I'm working on them both. I will only fail if I STOP writing! It's okay for me to write something that others will like. I've started to enjoy waiting for the reaction of the person reading my work. If they get goose bumps or reach for a tissue I know I'm on the right track!
