If for some insane reason you still haven’t gotten your copy of this AWESOME book by Carlie M.A. Cullen perhaps this exclusive excerpt will help draw you in.
Did his attraction to Jasna mean he no longer loved Remy? An emphatic NO ricocheted around his head. Was this attraction a result of missing Remy so much? A possible, probable, maybe. Did he want to take things further with Jasna? That was the biggest and most complex question of all.
Joshua recalled how Jasna had looked when they were hunting, remembering how pretty she was, how gentle her eyes were, how they had laughed and had fun together. His lips turned up at the corners for a fraction of a second before his face settled back into an unreadable mask. Then, as he recollected how murderously furious he felt when Dayna had ripped into Jasna, humiliating her so absolutely and how protective he felt towards her afterwards, his expression changed to one of pure rage, his hands balled into tight fists and a completely animalistic snarl ripped from between his clenched teeth.
It took him several minutes of striding across the grass for his anger to subside enough to continue with his deliberations; he slowed his steps until he was back to human strolling speed. Finally came the memory of how alarmed he became when he couldn’t find her after she’d run from the library to escape Dayna’s brutal words, how he’d suffered an emptiness of sorts.
Joshua had paid no attention to his wanderings yet his feet had taken him to the very place he wanted to be – the Japanese garden. He sat on the veranda of the teahouse, leaning his back against one of the support posts and again his eyes drank in the exquisite décor and peacefulness.
He focussed his thoughts once more, his eyes glazed over and his expression became bland. What did that emptiness signify? Were his feelings for Jasna deeper than he’d recognised? If the answer to the last question was affirmative, how could he reconcile it with the love he still had for Remy?
